The brand Avarca

For those who are a fan of Menorquinas, you know that Avarca is the specialized brand!

Originating in Menorca – an island in Spain, Avarca footwear began in the Roman Empire .

It was created with the aim of having flexible and resistant footwear , which would allow working on the ground with the feet protected from the cold. They put straw inside to protect themselves from the damp, keeping their feet warm.

Initially, Menorquinas were made from animal leather from the sole to the straps, but with the arrival of recycled rubber tires came the revolution:

They exchanged the leather of the soles and the handles for the rubber of the tires, making them even more resistant and with greater grip.

Since then, there hasn't been much change. The Menorquinas sole continues to be made with recycled tires and the rest made of leather.
