The Ipanema brand
Today we come back with another story of a brand sold at Pituka - Ipanema.
The story begins when Grandene , one of the largest companies producing synthetic shoes in Brazil since 1971, decided to invest in the beach line segment in 2001, launching the Ipanema brand on the market, consisting only of women's sandals. The main motivation behind the founding of the brand was to “front” its main and strong competitor, Havaianas, differentiating itself through a more competitive price.
Curious is how Grandene chose the brand name! The designation Ipanema was chosen due to the meaning and value it conveys, cosmopolitan and symbol of Brazilian beauty (natural and feminine). In addition, it refers to tropicality and the beach environment , characteristics that are identified with the Ipanema product.
Currently, Ipanema have a great environmental advantage: they are made from a 100% recyclable plastic compound and produced using photovoltaic solar energy – 100% ecofriendly.
This being also a differentiating factor in relation to the competition, the brand has already conquered a captive place in the feet of millions of women in the world, mainly Brazilian women!
